Il Ravenna returns from Corticella with a crucial victory, secured by Di Renzo at the beginning of the second half, after a hard-fought match that was anything but spectacular.

The irregular conditions of the playing field indeed penalized the higher technical skill of the yellow-red team, forcing them into a match of sacrifice and pragmatism.

The first half saw Ravenna take the initiative, creating several dangerous chances. In the 13th minute, Rrapaj forced Malagoli into a corner with a deflected left-footed shot, while shortly after, it was Lo Bosco who attempted a close-range shot, finding the opposing goalkeeper ready. Corticella tried to respond, but Suliani’s shot was completely off target.

Marchionni’s team came close to scoring on several occasions: in the 35th minute, Lo Bosco, sent deep by Biagi, failed to hit the target, while towards the end of the half, Lordkipanidze and Di Renzo narrowly missed taking the lead with two individual efforts. On the other side, a counterattack from Corticella forced Fresia into a nice save, although the play had already been stopped for offside.

The second half began with a decisive episode. In the 47th minute, a loose ball in the center of the area was poorly handled by the Corticella defense: a failed clearance surprised Malagoli, and Di Renzo, the quickest to pounce on the ball, scored with a diving effort.

The home team tried to react, becoming dangerous during a corner kick, but the attempt turned out to be a flash in the pan. The second half passed by without much excitement, with Ravenna skillfully managing the lead and fending off every timid opponent assault.

This precious victory allows the Giallorossi to maintain a three-point gap from the leaders, Tau, who will be hosted on Sunday afternoon at Benelli for a big match that promises to be unmissable.
